Laurence Jones + Sam Paine Trio this Thursday 11th September

LAURENCE JONES GMWe have two great bands this Thursday 11th September in the Cellar Bar at Farnham Maltings – Laurence Jones Band and Sam Paine Trio.  Laurence Jones is without doubt a rising star of the blues scene – a guitar wizard, with a great voice and on-stage charisma.  At just 22 years old Laurence is playing with a maturity and skill beyond his years and making quite a name for himself. He now has a superb band including fabulous bass player Roger Innes. Laurence has a strong and growing fan base and is attracted much deserved critical acclaim. Laurence supported Walter Trout on his 2013 tour and says “Laurence is a cross between Eric Clapton & Buddy Guy he is a genius”     Powerhouse blues-rock band Sam Paine Trio will be opening the night at 8.30 pm.  The Sam Paine Trio is renowned for their unique style, fusing influences of Texas and Chicago Blues with the very best of British Blues/Rock. Sam’s blistering guitar playing and soulful vocals are backed up by the solid bass drive of Mark Barlow and the silky grooves of John Hillier on drums. Angela Brown & The Mighty 45’s at Farnham Maltings

Angela Brown GMA unique and fascinating “Lady of the Blues”  ANGELA BROWN brings a true taste of  Chicago to the Cellar Bar at Farnham Maltings on Thursday 5th June.   Angela is the ‘real deal’ – a wonderful singer, a fabulour performer, and with a personality that can light up a room.  Angela will also be accompanied by ‘The Mighty 45’s’ and on this particular night there will also be a horn section.   Check out a video clip at www.boogaloopromotions.com/blues/gigs.

Great Blues line-up in the Cellar Bar at South Hill Park

IMG_4004Boogaloo is hosting a series of intimate acoustic nights in the Cellar Bar at South Hill Park, Bracknell.  This Wednesday 7th May we have the Sepia Swing Show Twins, aka as veteran bluesmen harmonica player Dave Raphael and guitarist Nick Hyde.

On Wednesday 4th June superb guitarist and singer Aynsley Lister returns to the Cellar Bar with his modern take on the blues, and on this night opening for Aynsley will be  special guest Till Bennewitz (Germany) for his first ever UK appearance.  This will be a fabulous night and given Aynsley’s popularity, ticket reservations are recommended! 

We are delighted to have stunning singer and guitarist Eugene ‘Hideaway’ Bridges in the Cellar Bar on Wednesday 2nd July.  Eugene was born in the USA, but now spends much of the year touring for Festival and club appearances around the world.

After a summer break, we are back in the Cellar Bar on Wednesday 1st October with not one but two fabulous singer/songwriter/guitarists:  that’s US-born Ben Tyzack (best known as lead singer and guitarist with The Spikedrivers) and Canadian Guy Tortora.

New Blues Venue for Boogaloo

Toorak 300dpiWe are delighted to announce a new venue for a Boogaloo Blues Weekend for 19th – 22nd June 2015 at The Toorak in Torquay.
We ‘road-tested’ the Hotel for three days earlier this week and found it to be a delightful hotel close to the sea with clean comfortable rooms, great food and excellent service.
The price will be £204 for 3 nights half board including a scrumptious Full English breakfast and a four-course dinner including coffee and fudge.  There are also some upgraded rooms available.

As usual a £50 deposit per person secures your place.
The Toorak is owned by Torbay Leisure Hotels and the seven-acre complex includes swimming pools, a spa and gym, a Bistro and it’s own pub.
Torquay is also a lovely place to stay with superb scenery, friendly locals, quirky shops and great weather.  No wonder it’s just been voted as the third best place in the country to stay after London and Edinburgh!

Having toured extensively with the critically acclaimed blues rock outfit over the last few years, as well as taking to the road in a stripped back, acoustic format, Stevie is now setting out on a new adventure in a full-on, electric, no-holds-barred trio format. Robin Bibi Band + special guests at Farnham Maltings Thurs 13 Feb

IMG_2907Superb guitarist and singer Robin Bibi and his excellent band will be appearing in the Cellar Bar at Farnham Maltings this Thursday 13th February, along with special guests including Tim Hain, Earl Jackson, Saiichi Sugiyama, Dave Raphael and Chloe Christmas.
