BEN WATERS is one of the leading boogie piano players in the world as well as being a great entertainer. Ben started playing in public at the tender age of 16 and first played for Boogaloo at an early Blues Festival at the age of 17. Unbelievably 2015 is Ben’s 25th year in the business, and he’s celebrating this milestone with a short tour of his favourite venues. Ben will play at The Maltings along with assorted musical friends. A great way to start the New Year! Doors open 8.15 pm for a 9.00 pm start. For ticket reservations, go to www.boogaloopromotions.com/tickets.

We have two great bands this Thursday 11th September in the Cellar Bar at Farnham Maltings – Laurence Jones Band and Sam Paine Trio. Laurence Jones is without doubt a rising star of the blues scene – a guitar wizard, with a great voice and on-stage charisma. At just 22 years old Laurence is playing with a maturity and skill beyond his years and making quite a name for himself. He now has a superb band including fabulous bass player Roger Innes. Laurence has a strong and growing fan base and is attracted much deserved critical acclaim. Laurence supported Walter Trout on his 2013 tour and says “Laurence is a cross between Eric Clapton & Buddy Guy he is a genius” Powerhouse blues-rock band Sam Paine Trio will be opening the night at 8.30 pm. The Sam Paine Trio is renowned for their unique style, fusing influences of Texas and Chicago Blues with the very best of British Blues/Rock. Sam’s blistering guitar playing and soulful vocals are backed up by the solid bass drive of Mark Barlow and the silky grooves of John Hillier on drums. This night represents a significant milestone in the rise of The Sam Paine Trio as they will be launching their debut EP on the night, so come check out a band described as ‘one of the best Blues Trios in the South’. www.facebook.com/TheSamPaineTrio. We hope to see you there! Tickets are a bargain at just £10 per person! For ticket reservations please visit www.boogaloopromotions.com/tickets.
We’ve just taken delivery of the leaflets for our new blues weekenders at South Downs Holiday Village April 24th – 27th and at The Toorak 19th – 22nd June. We’re also expecting delivery any day now of the leaflets for the Jump Jive & Boogie Weekend at The Carrington next March and for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Weekend at Norton Grange, also next March.
These are already on the website for you to view and download, but do give us a shout if you can take some for friends and music buddies! We’d love to post you some!
We find that word-of-mouth is by far the best form of advertising so we really appreciate your help.
The Jump Jive & Boogie Weekend at The Carrington House Hotel has now been confirmed for Friday 27th – Sunday 29th March 2015, and we’ve held the price for 2015 at this year’s price of just £179 per person, with plenty of single rooms with no supplement and some superior rooms available at a supplement of just £45 per room for the weekend. The Carrington House Hotel has a very large ballroom which is great for dancing and is now undergoing refurbishment.
Any suggestions you have for bands will be welcome!
