Hamilton Loomis at Farnham Maltings Thursday 16th May 2013

Hamilton Loomis4

Bo’ Diddley protege Hamilton Loomis brings his soulful, tight, and energetic act to the Cellar Bar at Farnham Maltings on Thursday 16th May.

You don’t get mentored by the likes of the legendary Bo Diddley if you don’t possess something very special. Diddley’s words “Innovate, don’t imitate” serve as Loomis’ mantra, and with music legends such as Gatemouth Brown, Joe “Guitar” Hughes, and Albert Collins also schooling Hamilton in the finer points of music along the way, one can easily understand the worldwide rave reviews Hamilton has been receiving.

Hamilton’s ‘funkified Texas music’ has gained him international rave reviews throughout Australia, Benelux, Europe, the US and earned him multiple “Best Artist” awards in England & Wales.   Add in a Grammy Award nomination for Hamilton early in his music career, and you can see why Loomis rightly deserves his place as one of the leaders of younger artists at the forefront of bringing Contemporary Blues into the 21st century.

Don’t know Hamilton?  Now’s your chance!  Check out this excellent video which includes loads of high quality music as well as an interview with Hamilton.  Here’s the link:  http://vimeo.com/39538996.

Hamilton is in the UK with an all-star band: Roger Innis Bass, two time Grammy award winning saxophonist Fabian Hernandez and Raul Armando Aussenac on drums.
